New Beginnings

In 2014 Blissliving Home was reborn under a licensing business model.

By the summer of 2013, Mei had spent nearly a decade pursuing her vision to establish Blissliving Home as an authentic brand that is modern, global, and fresh.

By that time, Blissliving Home was blessed with a great following of loyal customers who subscribed to the glossy consumer catalog and enjoyed shopping the online boutique. High end department stores such as Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Horchow were carrying the brand, as did many specialty retailers including Haverty’s Furniture, Bed Bath & Beyond,, and Wayfair. Numerous independent boutique stores also carried Blissliving Home.

An Undisputed Trend Authority in the Home Lifestyle Industry

As a result of Mei’s leadership in design and brand development, Blissliving Home had become an undisputed trend authority in the home lifestyle industry. Throughout the years, Blissliving Home had been recognized with numerous design and industry awards – including an ARTS Award in the Home Textiles Category, and several Best New Product Awards presented by the New York International Gift Show and Home Textiles Today.

Trend forecasting authorities including WGSN and Stylesight continuously consulted with Mei and the Blissliving Home creative team on design and consumer trends. Blissliving Home collection launches were covered and highlighted across trend- and market reports.

Recognition across Trade and Consumer Media

Home Textiles Today, LBD Interior Textiles, Gift & Decorative Accessories and other leading home lifestyle industry publications had featured Blissliving Home on their magazine covers while popular consumer magazines including House Beautiful, Real Simple, InStyle, Lucky, Town & Country, Marie Claire, Better Homes & Gardens, just to name a few, had continuously featured Blissliving Home products and designer profiles across their pages.

Growing the Blissliving Home Brand through Licensing Partnerships

While celebrating the many successes Blissliving Home had achieved since the establishment of the company, the time had come in 2013 for Mei to consider new ways to continue to grow the business.

From the very beginning, Mei’s dream was for Blissiving Home to become a true lifestyle brand. When she published the premier Blissliving Home catalog, the assortment included bedding, sheets, throws and pillows as well as home fragrance and home accent pieces. Over the years Mei continued to diversify the offering by adding soft goods for the bathroom, table linens and textiles for the kitchen, fashion accessories, apparel and sleepwear among other categories. But as a boutique company, Blissliving Home did not enjoy the same benefits and advantages larger companies take for granted when it comes to production. Transitioning to a licensing business model was the perfect solution!

Mei Xu continues to serve as the Creative Director for Blissliving Home

Under the licensing business model, Mei continues to serve as the Creative Director for the brand. She works closely with licensing partners to develop new collections inspired by her travels and her passion for art, design, fashion, and culture.

Industry leaders in their categories and territories, our licensing partners are well positioned to expand the reach of the Blissliving Home brand into new categories and new consumer demographics.

The first licensing partner joined the Blissliving Home family in June 2014. Ellery Homestyles, a leading supplier of home fashion products based in New York City, was granted the exclusive rights for the Blissliving Home brand in the top of bed and soft window categories in the United States and in Canada. A few months later, Blissliving Home added a licensing partnerships with Avanti Linens for the bath category and Prestige Lifetime Paints for the interior paint categories.

All 3 current licensing partners are scheduled to unveil their debut Blissliving Home collection, inspired by Mei’s travels in Mexico City, in Spring 2015.
